Sheryl Chalupa – President and CEO

Sheryl Chalupa has served Goodwill as President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2001. Before joining Goodwill Industries, she served as Executive Director of Girl Scouts – Joshua Tree Council. Sheryl holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, both from California State University, Bakersfield. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, is a National Association of Corporate Boards Governance Fellow and is a Certified Executive with Goodwill Industries International.

Her involvement with the community includes membership in the Bakersfield Rotary Club, service on the boards of the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce (including a term as Chair), CSUB Foundation, WESTEC (Westside Energy Services & Education Center), the CSUB Alumni Board (including a term as Chair), the CSUB Public Policy and Administration Advisory Board and other community-based organizations. In 2007, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her to the State Compensation Insurance Fund Board of Directors and in February 2014, Governor Edmond G. Brown re-appointed her to the Board and appointed her as Chair.

A native of McFarland, Sheryl is married and has three grown daughters and two granddaughters. In her spare time, she loves to read with her granddaughters and they have many favorite books.
